I was feeling sad around Valentine's Day, thinking that if Abby was still in school then she would be enjoying a party on Valentine's Day. And then my kids were invited to TWO Valentine's Day parties, and I was no longer sad. Ha!
Abby took ice skating lessons! She's really good! She can skate backwards, skate in figure eights, do a simple jump, and crouch down while skating. It was fun to watch her. We're hoping to sign her up again this winter.
Baking is always the right thing to do in winter time. And so is covering your cookies with as much frosting and sprinkles as you possibly can.

| It's hard to tell, but she's playing peek-a-boo (or Ah-boo, as she calls it) |
Abby lost her first tooth - and didn't even notice! It had been loose for days. Finally one day I sat down next to her while she was eating a ring pop and saw it was gone. "Where's your tooth?!?!" I asked. We never found it! I *guess* she swallowed it? She was upset but I explained that, luckily, the tooth fairy is very understanding and all we needed to do was write a note explaining what had happened.
Short-sleeves in mid-March? A hint of spring in the air, I do believe!
On St Patrick's Day we ate broccoli, green soup, and rainbow bread!
We made tissue paper rainbows with a friend and built a trap to catch a leprechaun, but they were too tricky and ran away with our coins without getting caught.
This MUST be the definition of a long winter's nap:
Or maybe this one?
OR THIS ONE?!?
Every once in a while I pull out a bowl of warm, soapy water and some old toothbrushes and let the kids scrub their toys. You would be AMAZED at how much they love this! Here they are "bathing" their unicorns and dinosaurs.
One day, while the kids were playing outside, I brought out a batch of boiled eggs and a sharpie so I could mark them as boiled before putting them away. But sometimes my imagination gets the better of me, and next thing I knew, I had a batch of egg heads. This delighted Abby & Thomas and now, every time I boil eggs, they ask if they can draw faces on them (which, of course, I let them do.)
Jell-O and card games for the daughter who is getting older and occasionally gets to stay up later than her siblings.
And there they go! Marching into spring.
